When you hire me, that’s what you get. I’ll photograph you just the way you are (though maybe a little bit more done-up if it’s your wedding). I’ll show off your beauty, your personalities, and your love. That is, if you’ll let me. This is a two way street. The magic happens when you give me your trust. Unwind and get comfy. I want to take on work that inspires me. Selfishly, but also selflessly. I make my best work when I’m excited and inspired. So flaunt your love, your personalities, and your quirks. Show off who you are-in the energy between you and your honey, but also in the details of your lives. I want to see (almost) everything. I don’t like shot lists. I don’t like bad light. I don’t like prom poses. I don’t like making hearts with your hands. I don’t like fake.
I love emotion. I love the in-between moments. I love vulnerability. I love movement. I love telling stories. I love real.
I shoot with intention, with instincts, with guts. I shoot to tell your story in all of its simple and grand wonder.
I don’t want to be treated like a vendor, and I don’t want to treat you like an invoice number. I give all I am into this, and I ask you can give as well. So give me your trust, give into the moment, and give into the experience.
I’m not for everybody and I know not everybody is for me. And that is okay! My style of shooting is photojournalistic and whimsical, with an attention to details. I photograph as I observe. I probably won’t talk much during your wedding, other than to communicate and to make sure everyone and everything is A-OK. I try not be intrusive, but I will do all I can do get shots that we’ll both be proud of.
It is vital that we click. And I’ll do just about everything to get to work with clients who I connect with-travel across the country, travel to a different country, have a skype call at 4am, or pull some strings. I want to work with people who inspire me and will stop short-of-nothing to do that.
My ideal client is someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves. Someone who appreciates photography-not just as a way to capture memories, but as an art. Someone who is in loooooove and ain’t afraid to show it. Someone whose personal style comes through (not only in how they dress, but also in details, of how they live their lives). Someone who can be present. Someone who can emote. Give me all the ugly crying, wrinkle-nosed laughs, big goofy grins, and excited faces. Show me the tender touches, booty slaps, soft kisses, passionate embraces, and your best dance moves-either just the two of you or surrounded by loved ones.
